Desirée Dawson hails from Vancouver, British Columbia. You might know her as the warm hearted and humble girl who won CBC's Searchlight Competition, as well as rocking stages with her ukulele all around the world. Asides from her soulful ukulele numbers, Desirée has had chart topping singles in the current dance music scene along with various label releases from around the globe.
Desirée recently released her album "Wild Heart" which can be found on Spotify, iTunes and all digital music outlets.
Her single “Hide” Won her the title of CBC searchlight 2016 winner and is her first solo single on iTunes and Spotify. Her latest single, "Wild Heart" was released on iTunes on Jan 4th 2017 and has already made it on to CBC radio 2 top 20 list! Desirée’s song "Hide" made it onto top 100 songs of 2016 and essential songs of 2016 list on the CBC website/ radio station.
This past summer she played CBC music festival, Surrey Fusion Festival, Opened for blues legend Jim Byrnes, Opened for Reggae sensation Jah9 , played TD concerts by the pier, CBC Nooners series, and many Vancouver pride concerts. She also has made appearances doing live interviews and performances on many shows such as, CBC’s Q and many others. She was featured in Canadian music magazine in June and in the December 2016 issue of CBC music magazine along side some of the most prominent Canadian musicians!
Desirée makes a point of having every song be honest and emotionally charged. She is passionate about connection and healing, using the power of music to impact listeners. Through this, her music has managed to travel the world over, connecting her with musicians and producers and artists from America, Jamaica, Australia, Europe, Asia, Africa and we are sure there are many more continents and countries that will align with her in the future.
